Ceasar is getting some length to his legs and neck
now to match his long back, so he looks less like a Dachsund and more
like a hound dawg.

Ceasar is now 5 weeks old.
He weighed in at 9 pounds and is still nursing. Some great pictures of Ceaser and Ruby are below.

Ceasar turned 3 weeks old on Friday, and he got some (semi) solid food.
He also had his first
solid poop, and cried through the whole experience.
Since Ceasar is an only puppy, I decided to give him some artificial
litter mates. They seem to help. He often needs his lion to fall
asleep...he searches it out and lays on top of it.
I think he is quite lonely, so I carry him around sometimes. He is
only sort of pleased with this arrangement. Some of his crying might
be because he now shares his whelping box with a lion and tiger and
bear....and catepillar.

Ruby was just sure she had a lot of puppies in there with all that kicking and twisting
around. But there was just one very big boy. Ceasar weighed in at 1 pound 7 ounces at birth
and was delivered by c-section. Ruby's parents have recorded the event with multiple pictures for
