Both Miles and Jake have found wonderful homes.
We are not aware of any puppies available at this time.
|
5 to 6 weeks.
Today, Friday the boys did there vet check and received their first shots. They are now 14 pounds. Growing
very quickly, but to be expected with a litter of only 2 puppies that started out at 1 1/2 pounds at birth.
Below are pictures that were taking oover the past week, between 5 - 6 weeks. The first row is
Miles, the second row is jake. We have added words with the approximate age the pictures were taken. It's not easy to get
puppies this young to stack, so we ended up trying several times, and used 2 different camerons. Jake and Miles
just did not understand "please do not move".

5 weeks old.
The boys are now over 10 pounds. They are running, playing, climbing and basically just keeping
everyone busy following after them.

October 24, 4 weeks old.
At 4 weeks Miles weighs in at 8lb 5 oz.and Jake at 8lb 2 oz. This week they graduated
from the whelping box and are out to explore the big world! There have been lots of
new sights and sounds this week, alternating between the deck, a puppy area in the
basement or just playing in the living room with the family. Mom is spending more and
more time away checking in for a good cleaning and nursing about once a day. Roxy (our Boxer)
has become the willing surrogate Mom, pitch-hitting when Mom has had enough. Jake has been
quite full of himself this week, up and at 'em while Miles seems to be catching up on
his sleep! Both are running, play fighting, exploring toys and working diligently on
learning all the new grown up stuff they can!

October 16, 3 weeks old.
It’s hard to believe they are 3 weeks old already. At 21 days, Miles weighs in
at 6 lbs, 8 oz and Jake is 6 lbs. There has been a lot of changes this week.
Walking fairly well, play fighting, practicing growling and barking and they are
too cute! Their teeth also made an appearance and their paws are getting really big!
Miles is the curious one, he is working on climbing out of the whelping box to see
what’s in the world beyond, Jake is a little more laid back and very cuddly.
They enjoyed their first meal yesterday and seemed to know just what to do… just a
few bites at a time for now. Mom is spending more time outside the box, what with
the teeth and everything, only getting in when they demand to nurse. She’s camped out
close by though… just in case, and she lets them know when they get too rough with
those new razor teeth!

October 9, 2 weeks old.
They just keep growing and growing……(like eveready batteries) Miles weighed in at
4-14 today and Jake close behind at 4-11. Eyes are open now and they are trying
their best to walk. They can make it a couple of steps before tipping over on
their side with a screech or worse, falling on their nose. Mom is taking longer
breaks away, and sleeping outside the box, but they can still expect a few very
aggressive bathing sessions throughout the day which they tolerate with loud
grunting noises! She even lets them yelp for a while before she gets in to
feed them, especially during the night when she is trying to get some shut eye.
Now that they can see though they find each other pretty fast when they need
some comfort.

October 2, 1 week old.
Eyes are still closed. Miles (lighter puppy) is 3 lb. 2 oz and Jake is 3 lbs even.
They have doubled their birth weight, plus a few extra ounces. Shaka is finally
taking breaks in feeding them, so their growth is slowing down.

September 29, 4 days old.
With only 2 puppies and lots of mom's milk, these 2 guys are growing very
fast. Mom pretty much ignored them other then letting them nurse for the first
36 hours. Wednesday night, her hormones did the normal shift and mom became very
protective of her 2 guys. She is feeding and cleaning them now. Maybe feeding
just a little too much yesturday. But today she has calmed down and letting them
sleep more.

Miles and Jake with mom Shaka.
Miles is the lighter guy, Jake the darker one. Both puppies
weighed in just over 1 pound, 5 ounces at birth. The boy's heart rate was a little low, and their birthday
was a little late, so with the help of Whelp Wise, the decision was made to
deliver the boys by c-section. Both mom and boys are doing great.
